Long hot sunny summer days,

Beachside, poolside, wind-down...laze.
Work-free, hassle-free, carefree ways.

Take a city tour - the sounds and sights,
History, art, cultural highlights,

West End, Broadway, clubland, party nights,
Pub, bistro, restaurants,local delights.

And you knew they would run out.

Would you choose to use them wisely.
Or freely give them out.

What would be a fair exchange.
For a smile from your sack.

Would it be sufficient.
To get a smile back.

Would you keep them to yourself.

At the bottom of my garden
A dear old fairy lives
She washes up my dishes
And tends to my young kids.
The flower pots are tended
The grass seeds neatly sewn
I wonder if she'll stay around
Until the kids are fully grown?

Rip my heart out and stomp on it

Pour salt inside these wounds

trees so bare and stark
